Awesome! only a couple of pages of notes and yet there's a lot there, a really good grasp of the core of what you want to make. very well chosen on the reference images too, gives a great idea of mood and atmosphere too.

like most game ideas i am going to have to stew on it for a while, but i will say kudos for the evocative language used. "foul core metroidvania" :custer:

Were you banging a bongo drum and clicking your fingers rapidly after you read every other line aloud?

Oh god I want someone musically-talented enough to do an homage with those notes as lyrics and "I'm buried in old ideas" repeated as the chorus.

Yeah, I end up writing some weird shit to keep my pen moving, but I stand by it. This is a game idea I've had in my head for years now. The image represents pretty much everything that hasn't changed from the start of it. I like to think that what I've discarded since then was chaff. Insane person notes are new.

I was gonna ask these guys to do the music for it. Hope it turns out metal enough.

Seeing now if I can make my thoughts on death in games as relates to this concept anything like coherent. If not, will post anyway after Global Game Jam. Probs start actually working on this or Sordsman soon.
